Huanggang、沙头角口岸重建将取消货检沙头角口岸于1985年建成启用，由于使用时间较长，该口岸消防、空调系统和旅检楼用电线路等设施设备陈旧老化；口岸旅检楼多处墙、地面出现裂缝和不均匀沉降现象，存在安全隐患，深圳计划对沙头角口岸联检楼拆除重建。
目前《沙头角口岸重建项目可行性研究报告》已编制完成，目前正在会同盐田区政府进一步优化方案。皇岗口岸位于深圳市福田区南端，2003年1月实行旅检24小时通关是我国第一个实行24小时通关的口岸，也是目前深港之间唯一运行的24小时通关口岸。
皇岗口岸建成至今已30年，虽经改造但通关环境与深圳城市形象不符，通关效率和查验模式也难以满足粤港澳大湾区背景下深港各资源要素便捷流通的需求。深圳市已计划对皇岗口岸进行重建，并由原深圳市规划国土委牵头开展了深港科技合作创新区空间规划和皇岗口岸重建专项规划研究。
Liantang Port officially started construction in November 2013，目前总体工程（除“一站式”项目建设外）基本完成，场地配套完成总工程量95％已进入查验单位设备安装阶段，有望今年第三季度具备开通运行条件。
