会和深圳湾口岸一样，个商务车牌将会从三十万降级到十五万，同时对非山区的境外投资公司放宽了办理条件，山区和非山区的公司办理莲塘口岸车牌不再区别对待。

除了税收上面的变化明显之外，还有一个重要的变化是，那就是特大型的公司多情况下，能够办理15个粤港两地车牌，而且每个口岸都可以自由进行选择。

莲塘口岸车牌指标办理条件：上一年度纳税数额须达到15万元以上，可申办第1辆莲塘口岸粤港车牌指标；上一年度的纳税数额须达到50万元以上，可申办第2辆莲塘口岸粤港车牌指标；上一年度的纳税数额须达到100万元以上，可申办第3辆莲塘口岸粤港车牌指标；从申办第4辆莲塘口岸两地车牌指标起，上一年度的纳税数额每增加100万元即可增办1辆商务车指标，至多不超过15辆。
