莲塘口岸自2025年6月12日起开始受理指标申请，仅发放2000个粤Z指标（香港入出内地商务车配额），和200个FV指标。从指标配额数量来看，莲塘口岸的指标数量非常有限，有需要申领深港两地车牌指标的朋友要抓紧时间办理了。
莲塘（香园围）口岸粤港商务车指标申领条件同深圳湾口岸、沙头角口岸粤港商务车申领条件一样，按照2025年4月15日实施的粤港澳跨境非营运小汽车指标管理工作措施中非港珠澳大桥口岸粤港商务车指标的申领条件办理。
莲塘口岸车牌申请指标(1) 到广东省投资的国外、港澳台商户，在广东省境内上一年度纳税额满足下列条件可申请莲塘口岸车牌：
- 申办第1辆商务车指标的，上一年度纳税数额须达到15万元以上;
- 申办第2辆商务车指标的，上一年度的纳税数额须达到50万元以上;
- 申办第3辆商务车指标，上一年度的纳税数额须达到100万元以上;
- 从申办第4辆商务车指标起，上一年度的纳税数额每增加100万元即可增办1辆商务车指标，最多不超过15辆。
(2) 广东省企业上一年度纳税数额达到100万元以上的，可以申办1辆内地入出香港商务车指标。
